The Pin-tailed Whydah is a small songbird native to Africa, known for its striking black and white plumage with long tail feathers in breeding males. It inhabits grasslands and savannas across sub-Saharan Africa. A commonly known fact about the Pin-tailed Whydah is that the males have an elaborate courtship display during the breeding season. A fun fact about these birds is that they are brood parasites, laying their eggs in the nests of other bird species, particularly waxbills, for them to raise.
