The Nene is a medium-sized goose with soft brown feathers, black facial markings, and a buff-colored neck marked by dark grooves. It is native to the Hawaiian Islands. A well-known fact is that it is Hawaii’s state bird. Fun fact: its partially webbed feet help it walk easily over lava fields.
