The Great Blue Heron is a tall wading bird with blue-gray feathers, a long neck, and a sharp yellow bill. It lives across much of North America near lakes, rivers, and wetlands. A well-known fact is its patient hunting style, standing motionless before striking fish. Fun fact: it can swallow surprisingly large fish whole.
