The Blue Morpho is a striking butterfly with brilliant iridescent blue wings edged in black and a dull brown underside marked with eye spots. It lives in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. A well-known fact is that its blue color comes from light-reflecting wing scales. Fun fact: with wings closed, it nearly disappears against tree bark.
