Scissor Tail Flycatcher

The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is a striking bird found in North America, particularly in the southern United States and parts of Mexico. It has a distinctive long tail with white outer feathers and a salmon-pink belly, complemented by grey wings and a black head. The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is the state bird of Oklahoma. This bird is known for its graceful aerial acrobatics as it catches insects on the wing. A fun fact about the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is that it often perches conspicuously on fence wires or tree branches, making it easy to spot in open habitats.
