Cactus Wren

The cactus wren, Arizona's state bird, is a boldly patterned bird with brownish upperparts, white streaks on its chest, and a spotted throat. Native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, it often nests in thorny cacti for protection. Fascinatingly, it sometimes builds decoy nests to deter predators.
