Brown Pelican

The brown pelican, with its distinctive brown and gray plumage, is commonly found along the coasts of the Americas, from North America to the northern parts of South America. The Brown Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. Known for its dramatic plunge-diving technique to catch fish, this bird is a symbol of resilience, having recovered from near extinction in the 1970s.
