South Island Tomtit

The South Island Tomtit is a small, distinctive bird found predominantly in the forests of New Zealand's South Island. This bird features striking black and white plumage, with a black head, white belly, and a splash of yellow on its chest. A commonly known fact about the South Island Tomtit is its melodious song, which it uses to establish territory and attract mates. A fun fact about this bird is that despite its small size, it can often be quite bold, approaching humans closely out of curiosity.
